An Important Message For Our Patients

Facey Medical Group is committed to the communities that we serve and we will be here for our patients during this uncertain time. Facey and Providence are closely monitoring the outbreak of COVID-19 both nationally and in our local area. The situation around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, and the complete picture with regard to COVID-19 is not fully known. Older individuals and people of all ages with severe or chronic medical conditions like heart disease, lung disease and diabetes are at highest risk. Presently there is no medical treatment for the infection other than respiratory and cardiovascular support for the small subset of patients that become critically ill.

Visitor Restrictions

In order to protect the health of our communities, and as a safety precaution to prevent the risk of spreading COVID-19, we have instituted visitor restrictions in accordance with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Governor of California. We understand the importance of having access to your loved ones when you visit us, however, for everyone’s safety we are asking that no visitor accompany you during your visit with your provider. Should you need assistance with your visit, we can provide that assistance, or in some special cases where supportive assistance is required, allow you a maximum of 1 visitor per patient if the visitor has passed our screening questions/fever check.

For pediatric patients, one parent or adult will be allowed in the visit as long as they have passed our screening questions and fever check.

Changes to Hours of Operation and Services

LAST UPDATED ON APRIL 5, 2020

We are working around the clock to expand access to telephone and video-based virtual visits with Facey providers using the Zoom platform.  Please know that our Facey providers will be available if you need to be seen for an urgent health matter. All Facey offices, including those which have closed to in-person visits, are still taking calls and arranging appointments for patients. You may be given the option of a telephone or virtual visit, depending on your needs. In accordance with local and state mandates limiting movement, we are cancelling any elective, non-essential office visits and/or surgical procedures to keep our patients safe and allow us to spend more time in ensuring that sick patients are taken care of in a safe environment. Your provider’s office will contact you if we need to postpone your scheduled visit or replace it with a telephone or video-based visit.

Valencia Immediate Care is currently only seeing patients with respiratory issues or patients experiencing chest pain. For all other health concerns, please visit our Mission Hills Immediate Care clinic any of the urgent care centers operated by Exer in Southern California.

Mission Hills Immediate Care is operating normally and has created an additional screening area for patients who arrive with a fever. They are open 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Our Simi Valley and Tarzana offices are closed to all in-person primary care visits. OB-GYN services at Facey Tarzana remain open. Our physicians who normally work in our Simi Valley and Tarzana offices are still able to take care of patients through telephonic and virtual visits, responding to phone calls, and arranging for urgent and/or essential clinic visits at another Facey office.

Northridge is currently only providing in-person appointments for pediatric services and will have designated areas for both "well child" visits and for children experiencing fever or respiratory illness. Our adult medicine physicians who normally work here are still able to take care of patients through telephonic and virtual visits, responding to phone calls, and arranging for urgent and/or essential clinic visits at another Facey office. Lab and radiology services are available at our Porter Ranch and Mission Hills locations.

Our Canyon Country and Copper Hill offices have temporarily ceased in-person pediatrics visits and radiology services. We are relocating these pediatricians to Facey Valencia, where in-person appointments with them are available for both "well child" visits and for children experiencing respiratory illness, when necessary. In addition, lab services at Copper Hill are temporarily closed until further notice.

Facey Vision Center – Canyon Country is closed until further notice.

Facey Vision Center – Mission Hills is open from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. for existing order pickups only. Ophthalmology services are available from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

All other Facey offices will operate at a reduced schedule of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walk-in lab, radiology, and physical therapy services will not be available during this time. With the exception of Northridge and Valencia, clinics with in-person pediatric services will only offer appointments for "well child" visits and non-fever/respiratory issues.

COVID-19 Testing

Many people will want to be tested for COVID-19. It is understandable that people will want to be tested for "peace of mind," but at the moment there is very limited ability to process tests nationwide. The vast majority of COVID-19 patients will have mild symptoms and will not become seriously ill. Therefore, we currently must limit testing to Facey patients with more serious symptoms where a test result may have value to supportive care. More testing will be available in the near future but still may not be widely given to all who request testing.

If you have cough, fever, or other respiratory symptoms, please contact your Facey physician’s office by phone or through MyChart to discuss your symptoms and determine if an in-person evaluation is necessary. For everyone else, we recommend that you follow the steps we have outlined to lower your risk of infection and avoid efforts to obtain testing at this time.
